The lovely
Melanie McBride is primping and preening in front of a full length mirror,
readying herself for a date tonight with Peirce Manning. Manning is a wrestler like Melanie but it is
unclear what their relationship is right now.
Whatever the case may be, she definitely wants to impress him. She is wearing an elegant, shimmery black
dress with a v-neckline. Melanie chose
this number not for Pierce but because she likes the way she looks in black. This particular number also shows off all of
her luxurious curves which will no doubt excite Manning and anyone else who may
get a look at her. Due to the fact that
they are attending an opera, she opted for traditional opera length gloves that
extends past her elbows. Melanie is
balanced on black patent leather peep toe pumps with a three inch heel. The sound of heels clicking across wood floor
alerts the self-proclaimed “evolved” woman to the fact that someone is
approaching. She turns just as the door
to her room opens and she watches as her sister Blaire McBride enters. Along with the smug look she wears on her
face, she also wears a black long sleeve sweater, a black knee length skirt,
black stockings, and a pair of simple black pumps.
“Yes, Blair…” Melanie sighs with some
sense of disgust “…what may I do for you?”
“Where the hell are you going dressed up
like that?”
“An opera.”
“With Pierce?”
Melanie nods
her head. “Of course.”
“Geez,” Blair rolls her eyes “Melanie, I don’t know what’s gotten into
you, but that smug sick bastard is just using you. He’s…”
“He is none of your concern.” Melanie
states in a strong, defiant voice. “What
I do with my own private time is my business, not yours.”
“Yeah, well your business dealings recently
have been rather suspect and strange.” Blair cautiously approaches her
younger sister, getting up close to her. “You
were initially forced into an alliance with Pierce Manning but now you seem to
be a willing accomplice, and that’s not to mention this Aubrianna Powers…who
the hell is she anyway?”
“Oh Blair, it’s so funny to see you finally
start to pretend to care.”
“Huh?” Blair arches a brow out of
confusion. “What do you mean?”
“You never lifted a finger when Pierce
Manning stalked me. It was only after I
became a ‘willing accomplice’ as you put it that you actually started to give a
damn.”
“Karen cared.” Blair counters. “She always did.”
“Funny,” Melanie retorts “she could’ve fooled me. You both could’ve fooled me. I was always the forgotten McBride but now
the people have forgotten about you and Karen.
Now the spotlight is solely upon me.”
“You and Aubrianna.” Blair spits out.
“Right, of course, Aubrianna.” Melanie
chuckles. “That is merely a business
arrangement. Nothing more. A rather successful one, might I add. It garnered me the MCW World Tag Team
Championship.”
“Look, Mel, please listen,” Blair places
a hand upon her shoulder “I know people
like Aubrianna, they only care about themselves. At the first sign of trouble, she’ll throw
you under the bus.”
“Just like you…” Melanie swats Blair’s
hand away and shoves her backward “…you
and Aubrianna are cut from the same cloth, then, Blair. You cannot deny that you and my new friend
and associate are one and the same.”
Before Blair
can counter there is a knocking at the door.
They turn in time to see the door open and the butler standing there
with Aubrianna Powers standing by his side.
“Ms. Melanie, your friend Aubrianna is here
to see you.”
“Thank you, George.” Melanie says with a
nod. Aubrianna walks in and Melanie
points at Blair and then at the door.
“Leave, Blair.”
“Yeah, get to stepping, bitch!”
Aubrianna says with a vapid sneer on her face.
“Fine, I’ll leave.” Blair says as she
turns to face Aubrianna and then back at Melanie one last time. “But remember what I said and remember I tried
to warn you.”
With that
Blair walks out of the room and shuts the door behind her, leaving Melanie and
Aubrianna alone. Aubrianna rolls her
eyes.
“Geez, what’s up with her?”
“Just her usual garbage. Shall we discuss business?”
“Yeah,” she sighs “God I hate having to go that dump Detroit but I guess we’d better.”
“We still have some time before
Deliverance. We can train here in New
York City if you like.” Melanie smiles smugly. “Regardless of where we train, the point is that we prepare for
whatever Willow and Jason throw at us, correct?”
“That’s right,” Aubrianna nods her head “we can’t let them take us by surprise. They’re good.”
“But we’re better.” Melanie says with a
confident grin. “We are The Elite.”

The State of Tennessee v. John Thomas Scopes
will live on in infamy in the minds of legal scholars and church goers for
years to come. It has been over ninety
years since the trial and yet still it is remembered by many Americans today
due to the indelible mark it has burned into the American psyche.
You may know
it more famously as the Scopes Monkey Trial.
The case
came to the forefront when John Scopes, a substitute high school teacher,
violated Tennessee’s Butler Act which made it a crime to teach the theory of evolution. The trial was initially set to attract
publicity to the small town of Dayton, but it eventually made the debate of
Creation vs. Evolution famous.
Willow Wilkes
and Jason King call themselves Creation, which I find appropriate and rather
ironic at the same time because I myself subscribe to evolution. I am a being who has evolved from her former
state of weakness into a state of great strength, intelligence, and prowess.
I credit my
evolution as being directly responsible for my current reign as MCW World Tag
Team Champion. Like those forward
thinking scientists in Tennessee who dared to challenge the status quo, I am
thinking forward. I think and plan for
the future while the fundamentalists who deny the very facts in front of their
face, stay right where they are while the world passes them by.
Willow,
King, the entire world is passing you by and you do not even realize it. You were in ULW, then you jumped to UWA, now
you’re gone from there and you jumped to MCW as soon as you heard it
reopened. That tells me that you are not
progressing. You are stationary. You have hit a plateau.
You have not
evolved.
Now do not
take my criticism as a form of disrespect.
Just as my tag team partner and friend Aubrianna said, you two are
tremendous athletes and I have no doubts at all whatsoever that you will give
us a real challenge at Deliverance. I
also agree with Aubrianna that our tag team championship match will be the
match of the night.
However, I
also agree that at the end of the night, The Elite will leave still the MCW
World Tag Team Champions.
We have to
all face harsh realities and right now, the reality for you in this match at
Deliverance is that you have the most to prove.
To put it in the way the plebeians speak, your mouths have written checks
and now your asses have to cash them.
Oh but you
are Jason King and Willow Wilkes, surely you can cash those checks?
My partner
may have a mouth on her, but even she has not said much in the lead up to
Deliverance. Well, outside of her most
recent promo, at least. And I only speak
when I absolutely have to. It is good to
make sure the enemy has no clue what your game plan is.
Besides
that, Aubrianna and I have nothing to prove.
We already won the MCW World Tag Team Championship, forever etching our
name into the record books as a championship worthy tag team, worthy of
notoriety.
Oh but you,
you have put a great deal of pressure on your shoulders with your talk in the
build up to this match. You believe you
own this division, but until you defeat The Elite, you own nothing.
So come and
take your best shot, but just as it was with the Scopes Monkey Trial, history
will smile proudly upon its champions and EVOLUTION will prevail over CREATION.
