John Lydon once said, “It's no good being nice and young and naive. There's no good in that at all. You've got to do it all yourself, and you've gotta learn quick. And you can't look for sympathy either.” Amen, John!   Amen! I was once like you, Gracie.   I was a nice, young, naïve little girl in this industry, a girl who saw the good in everyone and everything.   I thought I could make a difference in society through my actions, through my words. But I learned the hard way that this business is cutthroat, mean, and nasty. I learned the hard way that heroes do not succeed in real life.   Only in fantasy, only in the realm of the comic book, television, or movies does the hero always win, giving the audience a feel good story to go home with.
